Mr. Luthor was quoted as saying that the ball will become an annual event. He also said he has decided to spend some of his considerable fortune helping those who most need it. This year the proceeds will go to orphanages around Metropolis. The highlight of the evening was a live performance by All-American Rejects. Notable people in attendance were Bruce Wayne (dressed as Zorro) of Wayne Enterprises, and Oliver Queen (dressed as Robin Hood) of Queen Industries, both of whom were schoolmates of Lex Luthor (Excelsior Prep, '98). Attendees totaled over 500, including community leaders, area agricultural engineers, and even young people from the local high school (see photo). For more photos, please see A3 |
